World Suicide Prevention Day: Irish League players join together to share important message

A number of Irish League footballers past and present have joined to support World Suicide Prevention Day.

Present players including Philip Lowry, Howard Beverland, Levi Ives and Josh Robinson joined former stars such as Chris Morgan and George McMullan to share the important message that 'It's okay to not be okay'.

Also joining the cast are former Manchester United and Northern Ireland winger Keith Gillespie, 1982 World Cup hero Gerry Armstrong and comedian/Cliftonville fan Tim McGarry.

The video was organised and put together by a young Irish League fan who runs the NIFL News 2020 page on Facebook and Instagram.

They reached out to the players and other celebrities to share the message on World Suicide Prevention Day.

Anyone who needs to talk to someone about mental health issues can call the Samaritans on 116123 or Lifeline on 0808 808 8000.
