World of Tanks 2.0 release countdown: Exact date and time, overhaul features, tanks, and more

World of Tanks 2.0 is set to be the biggest innovation in the game's history, and it goes live in early September on all versions of the game.

Revealed on Opening Night Live during Gamescom, Wargaming shared a special trailer to celebrate the occasion. Since then, we have received plenty of information about the upcoming update, including all new tanks, changes, and more coming to the game.

World of Tanks might not get a sequel, but 2.0 could be that much required change players have been asking for. Let's take a look at all the important details, starting with when the update will be available for all.

World of Tanks 2.0 release countdown

World of Tanks 2.0 changes

While we wait for details about World of Tanks 2.0, Wargaming has already given us a fair glimpse of the new features. The first major talking point is the release of Tier XI vehicles, which will have 16 unique tanks.

Heavy

  • Taschenratte (German)
  • KR-1 (Soviet)
  • T-803 (US)
  • AMX-67 Imbattable (France)
  • FV4025 Contriver (UK)
  • BZ-79 (China)
  • Black Rock (US)

Medium

  • Object 432U (Soviet)
  • Leopard 120 Verbessert (German)
  • CS-67 Szakal (Poland)
  • AS-XX 40t (France)
  • XM69 Hacker (US)

Light and TD

  • Hirschkafer (German)
  • Strv 107-12 (Sweden)
  • AT-FV230 Breaker (UK)
  • LeKpz Borkenkafer (German)

Garage and UX improvements

The Garage is being completely redesigned from what is currently available. The new layout will feature vertical menus, an expandable carousel, and an armor viewer that allows you to study your own tanks carefully. The last feature could be a game-changer, especially for beginners who might not know the armor profiling on their tanks.

Tank rebalance

Over 100 tanks will receive changes as part of update 2.0. For example, Light Tanks will be given a significant buff with more HP without losing their current strengths. Overhauled modules will strengthen stock tanks at the start of a match, increasing your chances of success. Premium vehicles are also expected to get major buffs, allowing players to enjoy them again.

Personal Missions 3.0

A new Personal Missions campaign is coming to the game, which will test your prowess in three different operations. Complete the conditions, and you'll get close to adding the Tier VIII Windhund, Tier X Dravec, and the Tier XI Black Rock. While completing main missions is the way to go, you can make additional progress with the help of daily and weekly quests.

New map and Operation Boiling Point

Nordskar will be the newest map in World of Tanks following Update 2.0, and it will be home to random battles and Operation Boiling Point. The latter will be a story-driven solo PvE mission where you can switch from a Tier VIII tank to three Tier XI variants. The objective will revolve around calling in airstrikes to prevent a data leak.

2.0 Operations Room

An interactive Operations Room will be the central place of your journey, allowing you to do the following activities:

  • Generate your unique battle journey video crafted from your account history.
  • Sign a commitment that we can count on you at the release.
  • Take on special missions and claim exclusive rewards.
