World Cup of Darts 2025: Final results as Northern Ireland beat Wales in thriller

The World Cup of Darts is now over for 2025, with Northern Ireland sealing their maiden title.

The team event saw 40 nations battle it out to become world champions on the oche, with Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney eventually emerging victorious on Sunday night in a thrilling finale in Frankfurt as Wales’ Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price lost in a dramatic last-leg shootout.

It was the 15th edition of the competition, which began back in 2010 as part of PDC chairman Barry Hearn’s plan to expand professional darts.

England were the defending champions after defeating Austria 10-6 in the final at Eissporthalle last year, knocking Wales off their perch and breaking a new record, with a fifth World Cup title.

Despite coming into this tournament as very heavy favourites, Luke Littler and Luke Humphries were knocked out by Germany at the first time of asking.

Who is playing for England at the World Cup of Darts?

Luke Humphries and Luke Littler, the world No1 and 2, represented England, who were seeded first.

It was Littler’s debut in the competition after Humphries was joined by Michael Smith for the 2024 triumph.

Littler is the current world champion after he defeated Michael van Gerwen 7-3 at Alexandra Palace back in January.
