World Athletics Championships 2022: TV coverage, schedule and start times in Oregon

The World Athletics Championships are set to get underway at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon on Friday as the best athletes in the world go head to head on the greatest international stage outside of the Olympics.

Great Britain’s finest track and field stars will attempt to leave their mark on the global stage, with the likes of Dina Asher-Smith and Katarina Johnson-Thompson hoping to defend their titles won in Doha three years ago. After starring in Tokyo last summer, names like Keely Hodgkinson and Laura Muir will be desperate to add to their medal totals.

The international sprint talent is headlined by triple Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah along with Shericka Jackson and Lamont Marcell Jacobs. Sydney McLaughlin and Christian Coleman will spearhead Team USA’s hopes, while legend Allyson Felix will compete for the final time with a domestic crowd ready to cheer her on.

There is an eight-hour time difference between the UK and Eugene, Oregon on the west coast of the United States. However, you can stay up to date through all the action as the World Championships run from Friday 15 July to Sunday 24 July.

The BBC will be providing full coverage of the World Athletics Championships, with the best of the action shown live on BBC One after midnight. Here is the full event schedule so you never a miss a second of the action.
