Woman wounded in South Chicago shooting

A 32-year-old woman was wounded in a shooting Friday in South Chicago.

She was in the back of a moving vehicle about 1:37 a.m. in the 8500 block of South Escanaba Avenue when she heard gunfire and felt pain, Chicago police said.

The woman was struck in the buttocks and was driven to Trinity Hospital where her condition was stabilized, police said.

No arrests have been reported. Area South detectives are investigating.
