A man has been arrested after reports a woman was assaulted in Openshaw on Saturday evening.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large police cordon on Meech Street and the surrounding roads following the alleged attack.
Officers said the woman suffered 'no visible injuries'.
She has been taken to hospital for further assessement.
The man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
Police did not have details about the age of the suspect or victim.
Meech Street is a small residential road next to a park.
A GMP spokesman said: "We were called to Meech Street at 3pm.
"One woman was taken to hospital.
"She suffered no visible injuries. One man has been arrested.
"There was a scene but it has now been closed."
