Woman shows 'genius' way to remove furniture marks from carpet using ice cubes and a teaspoon

A woman has shared a great way to remove furniture marks from carpets - using ice cubes and a teaspoon.

Carpets can often get indents when you place heavy furniture on them. If you've moved your sofa or coffee table recently, you may have seen these.

Now a woman has revealed a really simple way to remove these indents - fluffing up the carpet to its original standard. The tip has left people shocked as it involves items we commonly have in our homes.

Taking to TikTok to share her trusty hack, Charlotte, who posts under the social media handle @ cleaningwithcharlotte_, shared a step-by-step tutorial on how to re-fluff your carpets, and it's since gone viral as people are loving the simple yet instantly effective trick.

The woman's clip shows a mirrored table being moved to reveal four pesky indents in her cream carpet. Charlotte then places one ice cube on each of the marks, and waits for the ice to melt.

Once the ice has melted, the cleaning guru uses a teaspoon to gently fluff up the carpet, and the indents are nowhere to be seen, leaving the floor as good as new, reports The Mirror.

The clip ends with a brilliant before and after shot, showing just how easy the hack is to re-create. Chuffed with the new trick, Charlotte said in the caption: "This works so well."

Many people praised the tutorial in the comments, with one writing "genius hack" and another adding "so cool!!". Others suggested slightly adapted versions of the cleaning tip, with one TikTok user saying: "Damp cloth over the marks, using an iron steam the cloth where the marks are, Job done 30 secs."

Another wrote: "lol i just hoover the heck out of it and works for me". Charlotte responded to those suggesting vacuuming as an alternative, and said: "I tried that and it didn’t work! I think maybe the indent was too deep!".

Meanwhile, others weren't so fussed on the hack, as one person joked: "I just pretend the carpet indents aren’t there then call it a day".
