Woman shares mind-blowing tip for getting scratches off hardwood floor using walnuts

Thanks to TikTok we're learning new things every day - from ways to end a call without seeming rude to how much dirt is really lurking inside our homes.

And most recently we've come across a video that has blown our minds.

In a clip posted by the user @endpin123, a woman shows how you can get rid of scratches on hardwood floors - using nothing more than a common storecupboard item.

The unnamed video maker begins the video by admitting she's just accidentally scratched her floor.

She goes on to say that she's heard that rubbing nuts onto a scratch will make it disappear, so she decides to give it a go for herself.

The woman gets out three different kinds of nuts - a walnut, pecan and pistachio.

She proceeds to rub each nut on a different part of the scratch to see what happens.

The walnut is the clear winner and the pecan also seems to work quite well, but the pistachio didn't do very much to help.

She uses the walnut to do the rest of the scratch and by the end of the video you can't see it anymore.

"Yep, it works," she proclaims, showing off the perfect-looking floor.

The TikTok video has since gone viral, being watched more than one million times and garnering hundreds of thousands of likes.

Many people also took the time to comment, with one person writing: "I've never been so excited to scratch my floor."

Another said: "Who on earth figured that out?"

Someone else replied: "Omg that's NUTSS."

A different user claimed they had the answer as to why it works, saying: "This works because it's a shallow scratch, so it just scratched the clear finish. The oil in the nuts hydrate the wood and mimic the look of finish."

While a fifth suggested: "It's because the little particle of nuts are filling the scratch divit."

A sixth added: "You can actually pick up walnut oil and it works like a charm on wood furniture/floors/cabinets."
