Woman seriously injured after crashing car into wall in Oldham

A woman was seriously injured after the car she was driving crashed into a wall in Oldham.

The 31-year-old driver was rushed to hospital following the smash on Hollinwood Avenue, Chadderton.

The crash, involving a VW Golf, happened at 5am today (Sunday, May 10).

Hollinwood Avenue was closed off by police.

It has since reopened.

The driver remains in hospital where her condition was described by police as 'stable'.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

Sgt Jim Burnett, of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Sadly this incident has left a woman with very serious injuries, and we are keen to establish the full circumstances behind this collision.

“I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to anyone who may have any information or dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident or shortly before to get in touch with police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 0161 856 8968, quoting incident number 523 of May 10.
