Woman's body removed from Dublin's River Liffey as garda investigation launched

Gardai are investigating after a woman's body was removed from Dublin's River Liffey on Friday morning.

Officers in Store Street arrived at the scene before 9am with the woman's body removed by Dublin Fire Brigade near the Custom House Quays.

All circumstances are being probed by investigating officers as enquiries are ongoing.

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí in Store Street were alerted to an incident of a body in the water this morning Friday 9th July 2021 at approximately 8.57am.

"Gardaí attended the scene and the body of female was removed from the water by Dublin Fire Brigade near the Custom House Quays. Investigations are ongoing."
