Woman rushed to hospital after crash closes road for hours

A woman has been taken to hospital after her car left the road and crashed into a wall. The crash happened in Ceredigion on Monday morning.

The A44 between Aberystwyth and the village of Ponterwyd was closed for almost three hours due to the incident, which occurred near the hamlet of Goginan.

Only one vehicle was involved in the collision, and the driver was taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We attended a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred near Goginan, Aberystwyth at about 11.45am on Monday, May 22. The vehicle left the road and collided with a wall. The female driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital. The road was closed and reopened at 2.25pm.”
