A woman claims she's been left in a difficult position after feeling she had no choice but to bow out of bridesmaid duties for her friend's upcoming third wedding.
According to this ex-bridesmaid, her pal has been married twice before to the same man, but wants to tie the knot for the third time after she ended up 'hating' her second wedding.
The now exasperated pal was there for the bride's first wedding in 2017 and even took the newlyweds out for a meal to celebrate. In 2018, she was present at their nuptials once again, this time as one of the bridesmaids, Unfortunately, this second ceremony turned out to be 'expensive and super stressful', and 'lots of things went bad'.
Although she wouldn't exactly describe her friend as a 'bridezilla', she does feel many of the tasks were delegated to her, while the other bridesmaids did almost nothing. This time around, she's not feeling quite as enthusiastic and suggested she pick another friend instead.

Taking to Reddit, where she goes by the username u/bubble_2107, the reluctant bridesmaid recalled: "Now they want a second/third wedding in 2023 because she hated the one in 2018. She asked me to be a bridesmaid and I declined.
"She asked why and I said I’m not good at planning things and since I was already in her wedding before, she can invite another friend to be part of this one. Since then she hasn’t replied to any of my messages."
Now she's wondering whether she should have just gone along with wedding number three, given that it was a 'sweet invitation' regardless of her own reluctance.
One fellow Reddit user advised: "You were right to turn her down. She is already married and she just wants an elaborate party where she is the centre of attention and wants you to do all the work for free. Plus, it’s an insult to you to say she hated the wedding you organised for her last time."
Another jokily commented: "Tell her you’ll be a bridesmaid at her next wedding, but you’re taking a break for this one."
