With nails longer than most people's actual fingers, Mariyah May has to deal with all sorts of intrusive and sometimes rude questions about how she gets by with such an unusual manicure.
From fielding queries about how she uses the toilet to how she works out at the gym, Mariyah has had to get used to her lengthy talons being a source of endless fascination to others and so regularly uses TikTok as a means of explaining herself.
For example, in a recent video, posting under the name @mooyahyah, Mariyah revealed she can get a good night's sleep despite having nails that look as though they could slice through a block of wood. And no, she doesn't sleep while resting her cheek on her fingertips.

While striking a few daft and impractical poses in a recent video, Mariyah joked that "A lot of people ask how I sleep with my long nails and this is just what I imagine how you think that I sleep", admitting that she's "surprised how often I get this question".
Another long-nailed person in the comments section remarked, "to be fair, the first time I got XXL nails I literally kept poking myself in my face as I slept", with Mariyah replying, "I feel I slowly made my way up to this length so it wasn’t like a huge change for me thank goodness".
Another follower joked, "she puts bubble wrap around them duh", to which Mariyah laughed, "I love bubble wrap!"
Another vid sees Mariyah lifting some impressively heavy weights while keeping her long nails perfectly intact, writing, "who said you can't do anything with XXXXL nails?"
One impressed follower commented, "Is there anything you can’t do though?" while another gasped, "those aren’t nails they’re claws".
Although Mariyah does have to contend with a bit of trolling, with people comparing her to the likes of Freddy Krueger and Edward Scissorhands, she keeps her head high and her nails on point, being very happy with her unique style.
Various other clips see her experiment with quirky nail art, from Simpsons-style donut embellishments to cute avocado prints, offering plenty of inspiration however long your nails might be.
