Woman left baffled after receiving bag of onions instead of Levi jeans she ordered

If you've ever been on the hunt for an inexpensive addition to your wardrobe, then you may have turned to websites where people are able to list their previously worn items at a hugely discounted price for others to give a second home to.

But one customer was left stunned when they recently bought a pair of secondhand Levi's jeans from a seller on Depop, as they didn't quite get the package they were hoping for when it arrived on their doorstep.

Instead of jeans, the customer found a bag full of small onion s - and the situation has also left the seller baffled, as they insisted they sent the correct item.

Contacting the seller, the customer initially threatened to open a case with Depop - who would be able to take action if the independent seller had purposefully sent the wrong items - but the seller assured them they had no idea how the onions made their way inside the package.

The customer said: "Hello, before I open a Depop case for this, do you have any explanation why I just received a parcel with onions in it instead of the jeans I ordered?"

But the confused seller wrote back: "WHAT? Seriously?

"Um, I'm honestly really confused what the hell. [What the f**k]? I don’t understand. [What do you mean] onions? Sorry, I'm really confused, I sent the Levi's. Did it look open to you?"

The customer then shared a picture of the parcel, which featured the pile of veg at the bottom.

The exchange was shared on Instagram where it went viral, racking up 23,000 likes and leaving viewers in hysterics.

One person commented: "There's a budding gardening enthusiast somewhere who just received a nice pair of Levis."

While another said: "Free onions? In this economy? Score."

And a third wrote: "As an onion hater, this is hell."

"Sorry babe the postman took the jeans and must have traded them for the onions", someone else posted.

Depop has been contacted for comment.
