Woman kicks sister out of home after charging £100 for walking her dog

Many families will help each other out with small favours here and then and not expect anything in return. Taking a dog on a walk is a seemingly rather small and easy errand, however one woman was left gobsmacked after her sister charged her a whopping $100 (£83) for taking her dog out for a walk.

Taking to Reddit, the anonymous woman said she had been letting her unemployed sister stay at her home for free but was left baffled after her sibling tried to charge her for taking her pet a walk. The author revealed she had been paying her sister $100 a week to keep her house tidy so she had some cash but the lodger had been trying to get another $100 off her for taking her dog on afternoon walks.

The Mirror reports the homeowner said she kicked her sister out of the house in a fit of rage but has now taken to Reddit to question whether or not her actions were justified. Captioning the post, she wrote: "Am I the a**hole for throwing my sister out of my house after she billed me?"

The woman explained: "My sister is a trainwreck. She needed a place to stay and I have a large enough home for an extra person. She has no job or income. I told her she has a few months to get her s**t together and leave.

"I give her about $100 a week to keep my house clean so she has some cash. I gave my sister her $100 (£83) and she said I owed her more. I was confused. She said she did other 'work' for me.

"I asked her what more did she do? She said she walks my dog in the afternoon. I walk my dog every morning and evening. But she takes him with her on her afternoon walks.

"She said the going rate for a dogwalker is $25 (£20) per walk. 5 X $25 = $125 (£101) on top of the $100. Then, she mentions she put together a scrapbook of personal letters and papers. According to her and Etsy, that job was easily another $75+ (£61).

"I told her I never gave her permission to do those things. Her argument is that those jobs fell under the umbrella of keeping the house clean and I was ripping her off.

"So I threw her out. The money isn't the issue. I have plenty of disposable income. I was disgusted how she came at me".

The post has now raked in over 1,500 comments as many Reddit users were quick to side with the anonymous woman who was putting a roof over her sister's head for free. One said: "Not the a**hole. I would have countered with a bill for food, rent and utilities."

Another replied: "Every time I tried to pull this crap with my dad when I was little he would counter with that. Show her what real expenses look like."

A third remarked: "LOL yeah, I probably would have said 'just take it out of your rent'." An experienced dog walker replied: "I am a dog walker and lemme tell you....at least no one in my area would ever hire someone who charged that much."
