A woman was left 'in tears' after her husband splashed water all over her dress after getting ready for a wedding because he said it was "too revealing". The anonymous woman said she had chosen a knee-length dress with shoulder straps for her brother's big day - but her partner disapproved of the outfit.
She tried to reassure him that it was a small ceremony and that only close family and friend would be there, but he insisted that she let him pick out something else for her to wear. The woman refused and put on the original dress, believing it to be appropriate for the occasion, Hull Live reports.
On the day of wedding, she had just finished getting ready when she claims her husband poured water all over her and the dress. The woman was left 'devastated' and says she 'hasn't spoken' to him since. Taking to Reddit, she wrote : “He waited until I was wearing it then splashed water all over it.
“I was in shock. The water was cold and it covered my whole body - not just the dress. It also got to my face and hair. I froze there, in shock, and began to cry.
“He was in his suit ready to go to the wedding and told me he’d be waiting I the car while I changed but I screamed at him. He didn’t even apologise but just kept ranting about how I ignored his feelings towards the dress and disrespected his opinion on it.

“We’re not speaking and he thinks he did me a ‘favour’ and kept my ‘dignity’. Her post gained 2.1k supportive comments and some advice.
One Reddit user responded in the comments: “Your husband sounds like a child. I bet he didn’t mind you wearing revealing clothing when he was courting you.
“I am tired of reading about women settling for weak men. Hold out for a strong, good man.”
Another said: “I would have gone to the wedding soaking wet and when everyone asked what happened, I would have told them the truth, very loudly.”
The woman said she isn’t speaking to her husband and is struggling with what happened. “I still feel upset and devastated by the whole thing,” she said.
“I’m struggling to let this go and get suffocated whenever I recall the event.”
