Woman in hospital with serious head injury after being hit by car in Glasgow

A woman has been hospitalised with a serious head injury after being struck by a car in Glasgow.

The 20-year-old was knocked down on North Street at its junction with Sauchiehall Street at around 6.45pm last night, November 26.

Police and ambulance crews raced to the scene and rushed the victim to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

The busy city centre road was closed until for around four hours till 10.50pm last night.

Now officers have launched an investigation into the horror incident and are appealing for information.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.45pm on Thursday, 26 November, 2020, officers received reports of a female pedestrian having been struck by a car on North Street at its junction with Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow.

"Police and ambulance service attended and the 20-year-old pedestrian was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with a serious head injury.

"The road was re-opened at 10.50pm.

"Anyone with dash-cam footage who was in the area around the time of the incident or anyone with information should contact police via 101, quoting incident number 2830 of 26 November."
