Woman in her 70s dies after being hit by bus at Walthamstow bus station

A woman in her 70s has died after she was hit by a bus at Walthamstow Bus Station.

Police were called to the scene on Friday evening after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a bus.

The woman was declared dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.

The Met Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch with them as officers try to investigate how the crash happened.

A spokesman said: "We were called at around 5.15pm to a collision between a bus and a pedestrian at Walthamstow bus station A woman aged in her 70s was pronounced dead at the scene. There has been no arrest.

"Any witnesses who are yet to speak with police are asked to call 101, ref 5575/15dec."
