A woman was lucky to escape serious injuries after her car entered the water off a pier in Co Cork today.
The woman, who is in her 40s, was rescued from the water near Kinsale Harbour at around 11.15am this morning.
Her car landed on mud at low tide, meaning the vehicle was not submerged under water.
Gardai, ambulance crews and a unit from the local fire brigade arrived at the scene and managed to free the woman from the car.
She was treated at the pier by paramedics and was subsequently taken to Cork University Hospital.
However, she is not believed to have suffered serious injuries.
Inquiries are under way into how the incident happened.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "A woman in her 40s was rescued from the water near Kinsale Harbour this morning at 11.15am after her car entered the water.
"She was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. No life threatening injuries were reported."
