A woman has been left gobsmacked after an 'entitled passenger' ordered her to move seats on a 10 hour flight because she'd promised her granddaughter the window. She explained how she was travelling from Hawaii to New York with a layover in Chicago - and had booked herself a window seat in advance knowing it was going to be a long flight.
Despite having her name against the seat number on her plane ticket, the "entitled" grandma accused her of "stealing" it from her three-year-old granddaughter. She said: "I had booked my flight well in advance so I could have my choice of seats. I chose the window seat on the exit row and as I was waiting in the airport I was excited knowing my seat was going to be perfect.

"We start boarding and I'm one of the first groups to board so I make sure I have everything I need from my bag, put my headphones on, and start my Netflix binge.
"I'm about 10 minutes in and the woman next to me taps me on the shoulder. She said 'Hi sweetie, I'm flying with my family and my granddaughter would like to be in the window seat'."
The grandma, who was sitting with her husband on the same row, went on to explain how she had promised the seat to one of her grandchildren who was sitting in another row with their mum.
When responding to the grandma, the woman said: "I’m sorry, I chose this seat because I know how long of a flight it’s going to be. I would offer to let her sit here during take-off and then switch, but she looks really young and I don’t think they allow children to sit in the exit row."
The girl's mum overheard the entire conversation and slammed the woman for being "heartless" and "denying" a child a window seat. She also accused her of breaking a "little girl's heart" while publicly embarrassing her in front of everybody else onboard.
She added on Reddit: "She starts having a temper tantrum and screaming while sitting in the aisle, holding up the entire line of people trying to get to their seats."
The child caught the attention of a flight attendant who tried their best to resolve the situation - and get all of her other passengers moving again.
"The flight attendant looks over everything. She said 'This is her seat. Also, your daughter is way too young to be in an exit row. Please don’t disturb this young lady again'," the woman added.
"The rest of the flight I endured dirty looks from the family, and at one point the entitled grandma tried to spill a drink on me as the flight attendant was handing it to me. Hopefully this next flight I can just sit in silence."
While most users couldn't believe the grandma's behaviour, others shared what they would have done in the same situation.
One user said: "I would have been a huge bitch and look out the window all while going 'ooooooh ahhhhhh, look at that' and then shut the window."
Another user added: "I would be coughing and sniffling all flight while scratching a non existent scratch and mumble about the plague."
A third user said: "Scarily enough, they do it because it has worked for them in the past at least once. So they will try try try again."
