A lucky woman gave birth to her daughter on the same day she scooped over £80,000 on the lottery.
Brenda Gomez Hernandez went into labour on the same day the US Powerball draw took place, landing her with an incredible $100,000 (£81,412) win.
The 28-year-old matched numbers on four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000 (£40,706) before the prize doubled when the 2X Power Play multiplier hit.
After the required tax withholdings, she took home $65,015 (£52,904).
She collected her prize at the lottery headquarters on November 30 after her remarkable double whammy.
Brenda, who comes from Concord, North Carolina, USA, told lottery officials she bought her $3 (£2.4) Quick Pick ticket at the QuikTrip store on Warren C Coleman Boulevard.
On November 9, she first gave birth to a healthy baby girl before winning the large cash sum that evening.
Brenda told officials of the North Carolina Education Lottery: “I feel like she brought me my luck, I'm so thankful.”
As it turns out, Brenda’s newborn was not her only child to influence the lottery win.
She explained: “I have two sons and I used their birthdays to pick my numbers.”
Brenda said it was a lot of luck for one day, adding: “When I found out I cried, I'm just so excited and happy.”
The young mum said she will use her winnings to pay off her mortgage.
In August, a Michigan man won over £150,000 in the lottery after his wife asked him to stop at the shop for groceries.
Preston Maki, 46, from Marquette City, Michigan, decided to purchase a Fantasy 5 ticket while at the Meijer store, and matched all five winning numbers drawn that evening, scooping a huge $190,736 (£155,173) jackpot.
The lucky winner told the lottery company: “I was finishing up my day at work when my wife sent me a text message asking me to make a stop for groceries on my way home.”
He added: “The next morning, I was in the kitchen and scanned the ticket with the Lottery’s mobile app and saw I was the jackpot winner!"
