A woman is fighting for her life in western Sydney after suffering injuries to her neck.
The 24-year-old was found at a home in Fairfield on Thursday night by emergency responders conducting a welfare check.
NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR on the woman before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said two ambulances were sent to the property.
The home is now being treated as a crime scene and will be examined by specialist officers.
A 27-year-old man was later arrested in Fairfield.
He was charged with contravening a prohibition/restriction in an apprehended violence order and outstanding warrants were also executed.
NSW Police are still trying to determine how the woman got her injury.
The man was refused bail and to appear in Fairfield Local Court on Friday.
