A woman fainted and fell onto the track at Ratchathewi BTS skytrain station on Wednesday morning, briefly disrupting services on the Sukhumvit Line.
The incident happened about 8.15am on the Samrong-bound track. Station staff rushed to lift her safely from the rails. Trains were halted on both sides of the station during the rescue.
The passenger was safe and normal train services resumed, BTS announced.
The BTS public relations section said the woman sustained some bruises from the fall. Staff gave her first aid before an ambulance arrived to take her to a nearby hospital.
Passengers who feel dizzy or faint while waiting for a BTS train were advised to sit down on the floor and staff would immediately come to help them, a spokesman said.
The fall rekindled safety concerns, with netizens stepping up calls for the BTS operator to install barriers at all stations.
