Woman explains how she bagged huge Morrisons food box for just £3

For a little over £3 Stephanie Edwards managed to get enough food to last for days and days and save it from being wasted.

The 34-year-old from Wolverhampton was using the the Too Good To Go app , which lets people pick up food from restaurants and supermarkets that would otherwise end up in the bin.

In fact, she got so much for her £3.09 Morrisons box she needed to take two pictures to capture it all.

"I bought the Morrison’s magic box from the Too Good To Go app last Tuesday night and collected it Wednesday afternoon," Stephanie told LatestDeals.co.uk .

"It was a massive box and the staff couldn’t even fit everything in. A couple of items were hanging out of it!"

Her only regret is they put the bread at the bottom (Stephanie Edwards/Latestdeals.co.uk)

Morrisons is the first UK supermarket on Too Good To Go, selling off food that's reached its ‘best before’ date but is still edible.

Jayne Wall from Morrisons, said: “We are using technology to help us reduce food waste and to help more people afford to eat well. It will also mean we waste less food this Christmas as it will find a home for products that can’t be sold after the festive period.”

And Stephanie was certainly impressed.

"It only cost me £3.09 and I was able to pay through PayPal which made it quick and easy. I didn’t know that Morrison’s did a magic box like this until I saw it on the Latest Deals Facebook page.

"I had been keeping an eye on the app to buy a box for about a week and had no luck due to them selling out within a minute each night. But I finally got lucky and managed to buy one.”

And a lot of the food wasn't even past its sell-buy date.

"There was loads in there including items that were still in date for another four days,” Stephanie said.

"There must have been around £20 with of items there - it was a brilliant bargain for the price. Lots of it went in the freezer at home."

She pointed out there was salad, crumpets, oranges, grapes, Hovis and Warburtons loaves all within their best befores.

"I will definitely be looking to buy one again," Stephanie said.

"Each time will be a different box so you never know what you can get. It’s always a surprise."

And what can you do to boost your own chances of getting one?

“My main tip would be to be quick and keep refreshing your app. The boxes sell within a minute so you need to be quick to get one."
