A woman who was shot last week in Little Village on the Southwest Side has died from her injuries.

Miranda Garnello, 24, was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

On March 25, Garnello was in the back seat of a vehicle about 11:50 p.m. in the 3100 block of West 25th Street when someone in a white SUV opened fire, Chicago police and the medical examiner’s office said.

Autopsy results released Thursday found she died of a gunshot wound to the head, the medical examiner’s office said. Her death was ruled a homicide.

No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.
