A woman has been killed in a horrific car crash which also left a man with life-threatening injuries after their car flipped over.
The white Ford Fiesta was discovered upside down on the A27 following a violent crash where the road is crossed by Hankham Hall Road bridge in East Sussex.
Officers rushed to the scene at 7.30pm on Friday evening and found a woman, 35, who was a passenger in the car, with catastrophic injuries.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the woman, from Bexhill, East Sussex, was declared dead at the scene near Pevensey, East Sussex.


A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "The driver, a 37-year-old man from St Leonards-on-Sea, was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with life-threatening injuries."
Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Richard Hobbs from the Surrey and Sussex Roads Policing Unit said: "This is a tragic incident and we are seeking witnesses as to what happened.

"Anyone who saw the white Ford Fiesta being driven from the Stone Cross roundabout towards the Wallsend roundabout moments before the collision at around 7.30pm or who may have captured dash cam footage is urged to call 101 quoting Operation Stark."
Emergency services were called to the scene at the point where Hankham Hall Road crosses the A27 at around 7.30pm on Friday.
