Woman creates 'genius' dating spreadsheet to track progress on all the men she's seeing

The dating landscape can be a bit of a minefield, as there's endless potential love matches to swipe left or right on. Even when you do stumble across a spark with someone, it can fizzle out when you realise that you don't have much in common with them or your first date goes horribly wrong.

As online dating makes the market so saturated, some people like to keep their options open by chatting to various potential partners at the same time. This way, you can get to know a range of people all at once - but it can be tricky business trying to keep up with all of the conversations and dates. One woman has revealed her trusty hack for keeping track of the men she's talking to, and it involves an incredibly detailed spreadsheet that helps her stay organised.

Taking to TikTok to share her advice, Emily, who posts under the handle @ crumbletumble00 on the platform, recently went viral thanks to her genius admin skills that help her filter out the successes from the failures.

In her first video unveiling the famous spreadsheet, which now has more than 122,000 likes on the app, she wrote over the clip: "How do you keep track of all the men you're talking to Emily?"

The footage shows her spinning round on a chair at her desk, looking smug as she's about to unveil her hidden gem: an Excel spreadsheet brimming with information about her potential love matches.

The clip then pans to her Macbook screen, showing a neat, colour coded spreadsheet with various columns.

The impressive Excel sheet includes tick box columns detailing which stage the relationship is at, from 'just talking' to 'it's over', as well as other columns such as 'Allergies (don't want to kill the guy) and 'likes dogs? (bonus: wants another dog'.

After people begged Emily to share the mechanics behind her holy-grail template, she gave her fans what they wanted with a follow-up video detailing how the Excel extravaganza works.

Linking the template in her TikTok bio for everyone to enjoy, the woman explained how to use the spreadsheet so others could reap the benefits of her dating-life organisation skills.

Explaining the first column on her spreadsheet, which is hilariously titled 'do I like him?', Emily said: "So the first section of the template really keeps track of: have we met or are we just talking or am I not really sure how I feel about you or are we still going strong - what's going on?"

"There's also an 'it's over' and an optimistic 'WE MADE IT!' column," she explains, before adding that she deleted the information from the name and insider nickname columns for privacy reasons.

"This would be their name, if you have an insider nickname for the person in your friend group or or chat, and then their photo - this is really helpful so my friends and my mum know exactly what these people look like," Emily adds.

"The next section is their profession, their age, what home state/city they are from and then a likes and dislikes column since I am very forgetful. This will also include their favourite colour and things so in potentially six months I don't forget.

"Then there's a column for my notes - this will be how I communicate to my friends how I feel about people, my mum's notes because she likes to be judgmental and my best friend - she also comments what she thinks as well".

Other details on the sheet include religion, which Emily says 'could be a dealbreaker' as well as a 'first date recap' section.

People on TikTok are seriously impressed with Emily's spreadsheet skills, with one writing: "bestie you are missing out on a million dollar career in project management with these excel skills".

Another said: "I need to get back into dating just so I can use this sheet" with laughing emojis.

A third person joked: "I can't even get a text back, let alone make a whole spreadsheet for multiple people".
