Woman crashes car into Tesco store with two children on board

A driver crashed a car carrying two children into the front of a Tesco Express store in Nottinghamshire.

The incident happened at the Tesco Express in Lakeside View, Sutton-in-Ashfield around 3pm on Monday, July 1.

The driver was a woman, and there were also two children in the car at the time.

Tesco have confirmed that the store will now remain closed for the day whilst repairs are carried out.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police said: "Officers were called to a report of a vehicle crashing into the entrance of a Tesco store.

"The driver, a woman, and two child passengers were unhurt in the incident in Lakeside View, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at around 3pm today (Monday 1 July 2019)."

A spokesman for Tesco said: “We can confirm an accident  took place at our Lakeside Point Express store this afternoon.

"We are relieved that no-one was injured and are supporting colleagues and customers, as well as assisting the police with their investigation.

"The store has now closed for the day whilst repairs are carried out.”
