A woman has been charged over the alleged attempted murder of a two-year-old girl on the Central Coast, police said on Friday.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad established Strike Force Flide last September after being notified a two-year-old girl had been hospitalised.
Police were told the child was admitted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead on two separate occasions in August and September last year, after suspected poisoning.
The girl was treated and has since recovered.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives arrested a 28-year-old woman at a home at Umina Beach in July.
She was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with attempted murder, and use poison so as to endanger life.
She was formally refused bail and remains before the court - she faced court again on Friday.
Police said their inquiries were continuing.
