A WOMAN has been charged after a three-vehicle crash occurred on a major Highlands road.
The A836 outside Dounreay power station was shut for nearly four hours on Tuesday morning following the incident.
Emergency services attended the scene and one person was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police confirmed a woman has been charged in connection with the incident.
A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
The road was shut from around 7.40am until 11.25am on Tuesday.
A diversion had been put in place around the old air field, with road users warned of delays.
