Woman attacked in St Helens takeaway left with fractured eye

Police are looking to talk to a man in connection with an attack in St Helens that left a woman with a fractured eye socket.

A woman in her 20s was assaulted at Frankies Chicken and Pizza takeaway on Westfield Street on the evening of Saturday 28 September at 11:05pm.

Merseyside Police have issued a still of a man they want to speak to in connection with the assault.

The woman sustained a fractured eye socket in the attack and is currently receiving treatment.

Detective Constable Philip Poynton said: "This was a shocking and unprovoked incident and the victim sustained a serious injury from the force of the blow.

"We are appealing to anyone who thinks they may recognise the man pictured to let us know who they are as we believe he may have vital information that could assist with our enquiries."
