Woman 'annihilated' after picture of her 'classic spaghetti bolognese' goes viral

With the nation on lockdown yet again, more of us than ever are attempting to whip up our favourite dishes at home.

But one recipe has left people absolutely horrified, after it went viral on Facebook.

The offending dish? A humble spaghetti bolognese.

The picture was shared on the popular Rate My Plate Facebook page, where people go to submit photos of the meals they have (or haven't) whipped up at home.

While some of the dishes look wonderful, others are, well, questionable.

Gwen W's submission definitely fell under the 'questionable' section for followers, after she shared a picture of her 'classic spag bol' with the group.

The post, which was spotted by the Mirror, quickly went viral, and has since racked up over 7,500 comments and over 4,100 reactions.

It's safe to say people are HORRIFIED.

"Looks like you’ve just scalped an Oompa Loompa," joked one person.

Another added: "This is one of those optical illusion things. What you do is stare at it for 40 seconds then look at the wall and a mirage will appear of 1 million Italians crying into their soup...try it!!"

"Did you cook the spaghetti in listerine," asked somebody else.

A fourth critic blasted: "Last time I checked, Gwen, green wasn't a classic colour!"

Someone needs to keep Gwen's dish far, far away from Gino D'acampo. The chef would have an absolute fit if he were to see this - even if he is from Sheffield.
