Woman and two children rushed to hospital after crash on Scots road

A woman and two children were taken to hospital after a car crash on a Scots motorway.

The 37 year-old woman was travelling on the A1 near Haddington in East Lothian, with the two youngsters, aged eight and 11, at 5pm on Thursday when the one-vehicle incident occurred. Officers say all three were rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

Police Scotland closed the motorway for almost six hours and drivers were diverted.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022, we were called to a report of a one vehicle crash on the A1 southbound between Gladsmuir and Oaktree, near Haddington.

“A 37-year-old woman and two children, aged eight and 11, were taken to hospital by ambulance.

“The road was reopened around 10.50pm."
