Woman accuses Prince Harry of 'making a living on moaning'

Prince Harry's new memoir and it's bombshell revelations have taken the internet by storm, and Mumsnet is no different.

While most people are caught up discussing the viral contents from the memoir, one user took to Mumsnet to question the title of the book. Under the 'Am I Being Unreasonable' section of the site, user benisright asked if it was unreasonable "To be annoyed at Prince Harry's memoir title SPARE".

The post has sparked a lively debate in the comments as users post about their feelings towards the Royal and his new book.

The full post says: "I have zero interest in this couple who seem to enjoy making a living on moaning about how they are poorly treated in Britain. Just saw the headline news and the cover of Harry's memoir with his face and one single word SPARE.

"Get a life for goodness sake. I'm about his age and never once thought of him as a spare. He kinda invented his own tale." Mumsnet users were divided on the issue and took to the comments to debate the topic.

Some explained where the title originated from, with one saying: "Apparently it’s the nickname he was given by other family members. I won’t be reading." and another saying: "It's a reference to the phrase 'Heir and spare' that royal brides are expected to produce. William is the Heir. Harry is the spare. So it makes sense as the title for his autobiography. What's your issue with it?"

Other agreed with benisright about Harry's attitude, with one user commenting: "It’s awful. Demonstrates how much of a victim he thinks he is. I am fed up of the victim narrative" and another saying: "It does seem like a terribly self-pitying framing, given his enormous privilege and wealth. He's hardly a second-class citizen, is he?"

Others jumped to defend the Duke of Sussex, with one user saying: "how weird that he doesn't think about his life the exact same way you, someone he's never met, do!" and another posting: "You might not of thought of him as “spare” but maybe that’s how he felt…..I have heard that was a nickname he was given by some in the family - being called that as a kid is gonna have an impact! I don’t like him but can’t get wound up about the title of a book I am never gonna read."
