A woman was killed in a shooting Sunday in Washington Park on the South Side, police said.

The 46-year-old was driving an Infinity SUV about 4:20 a.m. south in the 5100 block of South Prairie Avenue with a male in the passenger seat when someone opened fire from the sidewalk, Chicago police said. The woman was struck in the neck and arm.

The woman kept driving and struck a light pole about a block away, police said. She was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.

No arrests have been reported. Area Central detectives are investigating.
