The body of a woman was found in a house as police investigate her "unexplained death".
Merseyside Police rushed to Edge Street in St Helens at 11.40am on Monday, June 20, following a 999 call stating a woman's body was found. Once officers and paramedic s arrived at the scene they found the body of a 46-year-old woman.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin were informed by officers.

Merseyside Police have now launched an investigation and have said at this stage, her death is being treated as "unexplained".
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "At around 11.40am on Monday, June 20, we received a report of a body of a woman at an address on Edge Street in St Helens.
"At this stage her death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries at the scene continue. A post mortem will take place to establish the cause of her death."
