Woman, 34, dies in hospital after being found unresponsive in Fenham

A 34-year-old woman has died after she was found unresponsive in Fenham.

Emergency services were called to an address on Cedar Road at just after 11pm on Friday to reports of an unresponsive woman.

She was taken to hospital but she was later pronounced dead.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 11.10pm on Friday we received a report via the ambulance service of an unresponsive woman at an address on Cedar Road in Fenham.

“Emergency services attended and the woman – aged 34 – was taken to hospital where she was sadly later pronounced dead.

“Enquiries were carried out to establish the circumstances around her death. Officers are satisfied there was no third party involvement and a report will be made for the coroner in due course.

“Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“We would ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this difficult time.”
