Wolves vs Liverpool LIVE: Confirmed team news and Premier League commentary

Wolves vs Liverpool
Premier League 2018/19
Venue: Molineux
Date: Friday, 21 December, 2018
Kick-off time: 8pm GMT

Wolves and Liverpool kick off gameweek 18 of the Premier League season with Jurgen Klopp's side sitting pretty at the top of the table.

An impressive 3-1 win over Manchester United at Anfield last weekend ensured Liverpool remained a point above champions Manchester City, sparking hopes of a first title since 1990.

While Liverpool will be confident heading to Molineux on Friday night, Nuno Espirito Santo's Wolves are going strong in seventh position and should provide the visitors with a real threat.

Team news

Liverpool midfielder James Milner returns to the squad for Friday's trip to Wolves.

The Reds vice-captain was left out of Sunday's victory over Manchester United as a precaution due to a minor hamstring issue but trained this week.

Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold (foot) is not expected to be fit until Boxing Day so Nathaniel Clyne looks set to continue deputising.

Provisional squad: Alisson, Clyne, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Mignolet, Moreno, Keita, Lallana, Shaqiri, Sturridge, Solanke, Camacho.

Wolves forward Diogo Jota is out of Friday's visit of leaders Liverpool with a hamstring injury.

The 22-year-old came off in last weekend's 2-0 win over Bournemouth and the severity of the issue is not yet known.

Wolves do not have any other injury worries as they look to break into the Premier League's top six.

Provisional squad: Patricio, Ruddy, Norris, Doherty, Dendoncker, Bennett, Enobakhare, Hause, Boly, Coady, Gibbs-White, Jonny, Saiss, Neves, Costa, Moutinho, Vinagre, Bonatini, Traore, Jimenez.
