Premier League: Sound the crisis klaxon! Crystal Palace take all three points back to London after beating Manchester United at Old Trafford through a Joachim Andersen goal.

Championship: Stoke come from two goals down to the take the lead against Bristol City through a Nathan Lowe goal in the 89th minute.

Manchester United 0-1 Crystal Palace: United have an optimistic penalty appeal turned down after a deflected shot hits Marc Guehi’s hand, which was by his chest and not in an “unnatural” position.

Championship: Ipswich Town equalise against Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium, where Brandon Williams has headed Ciaran McKenna’s side back on terms. Meanwhile at Deepdale, West Brom have gone 4-0 up against unbeaten Preston through Kyle Bartley.

Scottish Premiership: Jack McKenzie scores Aberdeen’s third goal of the afternoon at Ibrox, where they lead 10-man Rangers 3-1.

Championship: Mykola Kukharevych scores Swansea’s third without reply against Millwall at the Den as the Welsh side wrap up only their second league win of the season. It’s the Ukrainian’s first league goal of the season.

Everton 1-2 Luton Town: On as a substitute, Beto heads a decent chance over when he should have at least hit the target for Everton in their desperate search for an equaliser.

Scottish Premiership: Abdallah Sima pulls a scrappy goal back for 10-man Rangers, who trail Aberdeen 2-1 with 15 minutes to go at Ibrox.

Championship: Kion Etete puts Cardiff one up against Rotherham in the Welsh capital, while John Rowe has given Norwich a 2-0 lead against Birmingham City at Carrow Road.

At the Den, Millwall trail Swansea City by the same scoreline and Coventry have just gone 2-0 up against QPR at Loftus Road through Josh Eccles.

Match report: Aston Villa 6-1 Brighton

Premier League: “Two aspirant clubs, a pair of transformative managers, both aiming to crash the elite,” writes John Brewin from Villa Park. “Both coaches deeply admire the other, but it was Roberto De Zerbi, lately linked with Real Madrid, who received a lesson from the greater wiles of Unai Emery, and a masterclass in centre-forward play by Villa’s Ollie Watkins.”

Scottish Premiership: Motherwell thought they’d rescued an excellent point against Celtic when Blair Spittal cancelled out Luis Palma’s opener in the sixth minute of added time at Fir Park. Brendan Rodgers’ side were having none of it, however, and scored a late, late winner courtesy of Matt O’Riley within 60 seconds. Celtic stay top, five points clear of St Mirren. Motherwell remain in fourth place.

Championship: Southampton have halted a run of four consecutive defeats with a 3-1 win over Leeds United, who dropped into the Championship with them last season. Leeds stay in sixth place with 13 points, while Southampton are three places behind them in ninth on goal difference.

Premier League: It’s all over at Villa Park, where Brighton have been battered by Unai Emery’s side. Ollie Watkins bagged himself a hat-trick, while Jacob Ramsey and Douglas Luiz got one each and Pervis Estupinan scored an own goal as Villa routed the Seagulls to move up to third in the Premier League table.

Beleaguered Sheffield Wednesday remain winless and rock-bottom of the Championship table after losing 3-0 against a youthful Sunderland side at Hillsborough last night. Tony Mobray’s Mackems moved up to fourth in the table courtesy of their impressive display and are five points behind pace-setters Leicester City and Ipswich Town, having played one game more. Southampton host Leeds United in today’s lunchtime kick-off and lead their visitors 3-0 at the break.

There’s a bumper afternoon of Premier League action ahoy, with no fewer than six three o’clock kick-offs scheduled ahead of this evening’s potential humdinger between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

Aston Villa and Brighton got the weekend’s top flight activities under way in today’s lunchtime game at Villa Park, where the ruthless home side lead 3-0 at half-time courtesy of a brace scored by Ollie Watkins inside 20 minutes, followed by a Pervis Estupinan own goal.
