Wolves star Ruben Neves 'stance' on Manchester United move and more transfer rumours

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves isn't overly excited to discuss a transfer to Manchester United - according to reports.

United are open to making signings during the January transfer window and various outlets claim a midfielder is high on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's priority list following injuries to Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

The Reds have been strongly linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes - who was first rumoured with United during the summer transfer window.

His international teammate Neves is another name to be linked with United in the past but the 22-year-old is reportedly not overly excited by the prospect of discussing a switch to Old Trafford, report Goal.

Neves has made 22 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring twice and registering one assist.

At the moment, a move for the Portuguese wouldn't make much sense given the greater need for a creative option.

Fred and McTominay worked well in the deeper position that Neves usually occupies and money would be better spent on an attacking midfielder who could lessen the goal scoring burden on United's forwards.

Elsewhere, Manchester United have discussed the possibility of signing Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz - according to reports.

The Athletic claim United have also discussed the possibility of signing Havertz from Leverkusen.

Havertz, 20, has emerged as one of Germany's top prospects and is expected to leave the club in the near future.

The report claims United have discussed signing the wonderkid but due to his dip in form and €100 million valuation, United would prefer to wait until the summer before making a move.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Bayern Munich have all been linked with the midfielder in recent months.

Signing Havertz would be a massive statement of intent from United but Champions League qualification would be crucial to winning the race for his signature if he did choose to depart.
