Reported Chelsea transfer target Adama Traore has dropped a hint over his future amid links to the Blues.
It has been suggested that the Blues see the Wolverhampton Wanderers’ wideman as a viable alternative to Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi.
Thus far, Chelsea have not managed to reach an agreement with the Serie A giants so are attempting to look at other options.
One of the names that has reportedly been suggested is Traore, with the Blues’ interest in the player even stretching back to the tenure of Italian Antonio Conte. Despite the interest, the 25-year-old has hinted that he is eyeing a return to former club Barcelona where he started his career.
Speaking in an interview with RAC1, he said: “Barcelona is my home. It’s the reality. I grew up since I was 10. From here, we will have to manage with my agents and see what role Barcelona wants.”
Traore commenced his career at the Camp Nou, progressing through the club’s La Masia academy, eventually going on to make four senior appearances for the Catalans. He departed for Aston Villa in 2015 but spent just a solitary season at Villa Park before leaving for Middlesbrough.
Traore remained at the Riverside for a couple of campaigns before Wolves then forked out a club record fee for his signature in 2018.
He has gone on to make 131 appearances for the Black Country outfit, netting ten goals in all competitions. He has also been rewarded with international recognition having represented Spain on five occasions and is also part of his nation’s Euro 2020 squad.
