With season on the line, Draymond Green gathers Warriors for battle

The Golden State Warriors’ season is on the line on Monday night. The dream of a three-peat is hanging by a thread as they trail the Toronto Raptors 3-1 in the NBA Finals. They’ll head into hostile territory in Game 5 to try and keep the season alive.

This Warriors have seen both sides of a 3-1 comeback. They trailed the Oklahoma City Thunder, 3-1, in the 2016 Western Conference Finals and rallied to win that series before blowing a 3-1 lead of their own to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

Draymond Green, the heart and soul of the Warriors, did his best to gather his team together before a Game 5 battle.

Green said of his previous experiences:

It helps because you kind of know what to do and when to do it. You can kind of feel different scenarios out. Some situations call for you to be loud. Some situations call for you to talk to someone. Some situations call for you to not say anything. You just kind of get a feel for that [and] what to do and when to do it.

The Warriors have played all four games of this series without superstar Kevin Durant, who has been out with a calf injury suffered in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Houston Rockets. However, the Warriors’ scoring machine is a full go for Game 5.

Green and the Warriors are still alive! And as long as they have a heartbeat, the former Defensive Player of the Year feels confident about his team’s chances:

I feel great. We still have an opportunity to go out and win a series and that’s all you can really ask for. You go out, you play every possession like it is your last and understand what’s at stake. You give everything you got and you live with the results.

Game 5 is set for a 9:00 p.m. ET tip from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
