Wishaw cafe is smelling sweet success as awards continue to pour in

An award-winning Wishaw cafe is attracting attention from all over Scotland thanks to its unique menu.

Staff at Aroma Coffee and Kitchen on Stewarton Street are impressing customers with their continental dishes made extra special with Scottish twists.

Popular dishes like the breakfast tattie wrap and eggs benedict served on a soda scone are just a few of the reasons why the cafe has won and been nominated for several awards.

Aroma recently bagged Best Eatery at the Lanarkshire Retail Business Awards.

They are now hoping to come out on top at The Scottish Cafe Awards 2019 after being shortlisted for Customers Most Wanted Café of the Year and the Best Coffee Served.

They’ve also been nominated for Best Eatery at the Scottish Business Awards.

Manager Lindsay Gilchrist said: “We are absolutely delighted to be nominated for these awards. We’ve had a great year and this just tops it off. I’m feeling confident we can win.”

Lindsay said he believes the cafe’s latest breakfast menu and his friendly staff are the reason the cafe has been noticed.

He added: “My staff are great and go the extra mile for our customers. They always pay attention to the wee details and are really friendly.

“We launched a new breakfast menu recently and it’s been a big hit. On top of that we’ve got a good social media following so the new dishes attract people from outwith the town.”

The winners will be announced at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel tonight.
