Wisconsin LB T.J. Edwards has good shot to make Eagles roster as undrafted free agent

The 2019 NFL Draft is over but the Philadelphia Eagles are still doing an impressive job of adding some big named undrafted free agents who probably should have had their name called. After the Eagles signed Penn State, offensive lineman Ryan Bates to an undrafted free agent deal, Howie Roseman and company agreed to a deal with Wisconsin linebacker T.J. Edwards.

Edwards was projected as a fifth-round pick by NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein and could be this seasons version of Corey Clement and Josh Adams, two undrafted guys who played pivotal roles in the Eagles success.

Edwards has the reputation as a physical, downhill run defender who could flourish on first and second downs before coming off the field in passing situations. Edwards had 112 total tackles as a senior, including 73 solos.

Behind Nigel Bradham, the Eagles have recently signed L.J. Fort, Kamu Grugier-Hill and Paul Worrilow.

Stanford’s Joey Alfieri could be an option as well.
