English cricket is in a state of flux at the moment both on and off the field. The Test team has sunk to the bottom of the World Test Championship and a new captain, head coach and managing director have all been appointed in a bid to turn around their fortunes.
The ECB has also been at the centre of much controversy, with the introduction of The Hundred, the handling of the Azeem Rafiq racism scandal, the continued marginalisation of the County Championship and the fact senior executives banked a share of £2.1m in bonuses this year despite laying off 62 employees during the pandemic causing anger amongst fans.
