World No1 Jannik Sinner was able to practice ahead of today's Wimbledon quarter-final against Ben Shelton.
Sinner on Monday hurt his elbow after slipping on the baseline during his fourth-round match with Grigor Dimitrov, which he was trailing by two sets before the Bulgarian was forced to retire with an apparent pectoral injury.
The No1 seed needed a medical timeout of his own during the second set and revealed afterwards he would need an MRI scan on his right elbow on Tuesday.
Sinner underwent the scan on Tuesday morning before cancelling a scheduled practice session at 4pm on Wimbledon's Aorangi Park. However, he was able to hit "a few balls" in a private session after the scan, according to coach Darren Cahill.

Cahill told ESPN: "He had [the MRI] earlier today and he can’t take a day off, so he wanted to touch the ball," Cahill explained. "So [coach] Simone [Vagnozzi] and I just fed him a few balls out of the basket.
“It’s not a bad thing sometimes. The more you play on grass with the uneven bounces, the more your timing can go off. Agassi used to do it all the time. We’ve done that for a couple of years, so it wasn’t unusual.”
Ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Shelton, scheduled for the second match on Court No1, Sinner was spotted wearing a full arm sleeve covering the troublesome elbow.
