Arsenal defender William Saliba led the celebrations after helping Saint-Etienne beat rivals Lyon 1-0 in Sunday's Rhone derby.

Saint-Etienne sealed a dramatic win in the last minute of normal time when Ryad Boudebouz floated a deep cross into the Lyon penalty area where Robert Beric planted a diving header into the top corner.

Former Leicester boss Claude Puel was appointed the new manager at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Friday, guiding the club to a win that lifts them to 13th in Ligue 1.

Saliba, who returned to the club on loan this summer after signing for Arsenal, was at the centre of the post-match celebrations, leading chants among the home support and his teammates with a megaphone on the pitch.

Saliba’s start to the 2019-20 season was hampered by a hamstring injury with Saint-Etienne struggling in his absence – winning just two of their opening eight Ligue 1 games.

He had an instant impact on his return to the starting XI on Sunday, helping his side record just their second clean sheet of the season.
