Do you fancy Scotland to get a win or even draw against Spain to ensure the Euro qualifying group gets off to a flier?
KEITH JACKSON: Not really but then again this is a more than decent side that Steve Clarke has put together. A draw would represent an excellent result. A win would be out of this world. Let’s keep our fingers crossed while also appreciating the scale of the task.
MICHAEL GANNON: Why not? Spain are a young side on the rise and they could become something special. But they’re also inconsistent and have slipped up in games against the likes of Morocco and Japan at the World Cup and Switzerland in the last qualifiers. Scotland should believe.
ANDREW NEWPORT: We’ll have to play better than we did on Saturday, that’s for sure. We will likely have to hit the same kind of heights as we managed against Ukraine last September to have a chance but Scotland always have at least that with the Tartan Army roaring on at Hampden.
FRASER WILSON: I really do. Scotland are close to full strength and have plenty of experience. Keeping the back door closed will be a challenge but inspired by one of those special Hampden nights under the lights we can do that and record a monumental victory.
Who replaces Che Adams and what other changes, if any, would you make to the starting XI?
KEITH: Lyndon Dykes will lead the line and Scott McTominay has surely played his way into the team. But the Manchester United man may have to settle for a place in Clarke’s back three despite his goal scoring cameo on Saturday.
MICHAEL: Dykes should be given the nod but it will be a struggle for him to last the 90 minutes given recent illness. Shankland is there too but this could be a game for a false nine job with the likes of Christie and McGinn bursting on.
ANDREW: Dykes looked fit enough when he came on to suggest he’s over the worst of his recent illness troubles. McTominay is a decent shout to replace Ryan Jack.
FRASER: Dykes showed in his cameo against Cyprus that he’s ready with that superb cushioned header to set up McTominay. I’d freshen up the midfield with McTominay in for Jack for a greater threat in the Spanish box. Ryan Christie will play a part but probably as an impact sub again.
John McGinn moved to 16 goals and seventh in the all-time scorers’ list - do you think he will break Kenny Dalglish and Denis Law’s record of 30?
KEITH: That’s a big ask but it’s also not an impossibility. McGinn will turn 29 later this year so time is not exactly on his side. However, he looks like scoring every time he pulls on that dark blue No.7 shirt.
MICHAEL: You wouldn’t put it past our talisman, even if he’s not meant to be a natural goalscorer. You get the feeling he’d trade the lot of them though if it meant Scotland were regulars at major championships.
ANDREW: It’s taken him 53 caps to get this far but at 28 there’s plenty of time left to track down those Scotland greats. If he can do it, he’ll deserve to have his name alongside two genuine legends.
FRASER: No but barring injury he’ll surely reach the 25 mark to sit third behind those two legends. What McGinn and Callum McGregor look certain to do though is break Dalglish’s cap record of 102.
If we beat Spain then where would this rate in Scotland’s great Hampden moments?
KEITH: It would be up there with the last time we beat them way back in 1984. What a night that was, what a team it was. What a target to set.
MICHAEL: It would be massive - and long overdue. We’ve not taken down one of the real big boys when it matters since France 16 years ago. Victory on Tuesday would be the biggest win in a generation.
ANDREW: The Spanish aren’t the all-conquering outfit they were a decade ago but they showed against Norway that they are still a pretty slick side. For me beating world champions France in 2006 is No.1 but a win on Tuesday wouldn’t be far behind.
FRASER: Among the greatest and certainly the best since that 1-0 victory over France in 2006. Spain might not be the free-flowing footballing machine of a decade ago but they are still among the best Europe has to offer. It promises to be a special night at the grand old lady in Mount Florida.
