Will Parks would like to re-sign with Broncos but hasn’t heard from them yet

Replying to a fan on Twitter last week, Denver Broncos safety Will Parks indicated that he would like to re-sign with the team but has not heard from them yet. The start of NFL free agency is just over a week away.

Parks (6-1, 208 pounds) was selected by Denver in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL draft out of Arizona. He has emerged as an excellent rotational defensive back and key special teams contributor over the last four years.

Parks has totaled 149 tackles, one sack and four interceptions with the Broncos. He has also broken up 13 passes and forced two fumbles. Parks is a versatile player and his ability to play multiple positions should help him generate plenty of interest from other teams during free agency.

Denver will prioritize re-signing starting safety Justin Simmons and with several big holes on the roster, the team probably can’t afford to pay Parks his market value to return as a backup safety.

Parks will likely leave the team this offseason, perhaps to compete for a starting job with another team.
