Will Kyle Sloter make the Vikings roster?

The legend of Kyle Sloter.

Sloter has been a preseason darling over the last three seasons — two with the Minnesota Vikings.

In 2019, Sloter was 39-for-51 (76.5 percent), throwing for 443 yards, four touchdowns and just one interception.

While most fans were pushing for Sloter as the team’s backup quarterback, it will instead be Sean Mannion backing up Kirk Cousins. It turns out Mike Zimmer isn’t as big of a fan of Sloter as the rest of us are.

The question now is whether or not Sloter, 25, will make the team’s 53-man roster.

The odds look good. Sloter made the team last season behind Cousins and Trevor Siemian.

The hope would be that Sloter develops one more season and comes in next season and wins the team’s backup quarterback spot.

Sloter is in the final year of a three-year contract and will make $645,000 assuming he makes the roster. He’ll be a restricted free agent in 2020.
